Taylor Swift在2020/7/24無預警的推出第八章完整專輯！（只有前一天宣布隔天推出整張專輯消息，連先打單曲都沒有）裡面收錄Taylor在疫情期間創作的16首歌（也有人說會出第17首...不過官方目前都還沒有公佈）（就在我寫完這一篇的隔天就推出了第17首the lakes！）
聽下來兩個禮拜以後，我也有我的top 3了！我想呼聲最高的應該是August吧...從甫推出就看到各個youtube歌手接連推出翻唱版本，不過我個人這次要先介紹我一聽就最喜歡的betty～對我而言，betty這首歌是最接近Taylor過去的曲風，也比較不是這一次“民謠”風格的取向，在我看來是比較偏鄉村風的歌曲。
我會選出這張專輯中的三首最愛來分享，betty是第一首...另外兩首就敬請期待了！

《betty》這首歌寫的是James這個17歲的男孩試圖挽回自己傷害過的女孩Betty。有一說是第三者就是Inez，也有人說Inez只是一個愛八卦的女同學，把James出軌一事告訴了Betty，於是James在夏天過去、開學到來之際，在Betty的派對上想挽回她。整首歌裡其實有非常多的彩蛋，Taylor自己在回覆粉絲留言的時候證實folklore中有三首歌講述著關於一段三角戀的故事，而betty、august與cardigan就是最多粉絲認為Taylor所指的三首歌——betty是男生(James)的角度、august是第三者的自白、cardigan則是女生(Betty)的想法。這也並不是胡言亂語，因為betty歌詞中提到的「I'm only seventeen, I don't know anything」「but I know I miss you」「will you kiss me on the porch」分別呼應了cardigan歌詞裡所說的「when you were young, they assume you know nothing」「I knew you'd miss me once the thrill expired」「And you'd be standin' in my front porch light」，至於august歌詞裡也提到這段戀情是summer love、第三者自述「Remember when I pulled up and said "Get in the car"」也都和betty歌詞裡James提到的的夏日戀情吻合。其實歌詞相互呼應還有很多很多，大家可以仔細聽就可以聽到很多關鍵字，包括kissing in the car、streetlight、cardigan等等。
這也是我覺得Taylor最厲害的一件事：每一張專輯的各首歌裡，歌詞都是有相互呼應的，其實不只是folklore這張專輯裡，Taylor的許多歌裡都有歌詞相互呼應的地方（有時候我也會猜想那是不是因為Taylor那陣子就常用的那些詞XD）另外，如果花時間仔細照著專輯的歌曲順序一首一首聽下來，你也可以聽出Taylor在編排他的歌曲順序時是有一個起承轉合的（我覺得這點在Lover專輯中非常的明顯，開頭是I forgot that you existed，意指不再糾結那些傷害過他的人，結尾則是Daylight，我個人覺得有豁然開朗的感覺）
總而言之，我個人真的覺得Taylor是一位很用心也極有天賦的音樂人，在音樂的每個維度上都做得很到位，歌曲也不只是小情小愛、慢慢的有把自己個歌曲格局放大到道德人格、社會議題或自我探索上，雖然歌曲風格從過去的鄉村一直慢慢的轉變到現在的流行，我也還是認為其他流行歌手不能和她相提並論，根本把大多數只會唱歌/整個過程中只負責唱歌的歌手狠甩在後頭。歌詞部分也是文法、用詞的層次都很高，我個人很推薦學生從她的歌裡學習句型和單字XD
